Zuccato is a consolidated name in the canned vegetables market.
The Zuccato family’s business originated in 1868 in Caltrano, a village in the province of Vicenza located at the foot of the Veneto Pre-Alps, and in 1898 sauerkraut production commenced in the original small shop.
The business spirit and dedication to work of the founders, who started off by making sauerkraut in typical wooden tubs produced by them, has also characterized their successors who, over four generations, have developed a range of specialties presented on these pages.
With the aim of increasingly meeting the requirements of its customers, in March 1992 it embarked on a project for “quality assurance” which concluded on 6th July 1995 with certification of the company quality system. This certificate, issued by the C.S.Q.A., is a prestigious international acknowledgment of quality in conformance with the standard ISO 9002.
Today many companies are justifiably proud of having obtained this certification; we pride ourselves on having been one of the first companies in Italy to obtain it and one of the first to have already attained re-certification and extended it to the new standard UNI-EN ISO 9001:2000.
As we have always been sensitive to problems concerning environmental protection, safeguarding public health and safety and health in the workplace, we have developed an effective environmental management system involving and making aware not only company employees, but also institutions such as local health authorities, Arpa - the Regional Environmental Protection Agency-, the mayors of adjacent towns, residents living near the plant and on 25 May 2001 we attained certification to ISO 14001:1996 standards.
Additional certification from the A.I.A.B. – Italian Organic Agriculture Association – for the processing of organic produce, care over the art of food preparation, the promotion of typical and genuine foods, research and development of products and technologies have all contributed towards making our plant a leader in the sector, combining quality with competitiveness.
